Background and Origins
Hibachi: It is a term used especially in America to describe an iron hot plate used to cook for a large party. The chef will basically perform for his audience by cooking their food in front of them. Also known in Japan as teppanyaki cooking, the hibachi grill is made from aluminum or cast iron for better results.
Sushi: Although our contemporary Sushi does not resemble the old Japanese version, it was created in Japan by the end of the Edo period. Used as a form of fast food, for its easy assembly and its easy consumption; It can be eaten with your hands. Sushi is now a trademark of Japan’s culture all around the globe.
Sakura: This was the name the Japanese gave the blossoms of the cherry trees which have become a symbol of Japan’s beauty and delicacy. Every year people gather around the cherry blossoms for what they call “hanami” which is the ancient tradition of picnicking under the trees in bloom.
